Frida Breife heter jag, född 1972 och konstnär. Efter
konstnärligt förberedande utbildningar studerade jag vid
Textilhögskolan i Borås, där jag tog en kandidatexamen
i Textil Design 1997 och vidare en magisterexamen i Textil
Konst vid HDK, Högskolan för Design och Konsthantverk i
Göteborg 2003.

Sedan 1996 bor jag i Göteborg men mina rötter finns på Öland
där jag växte upp tillsammans med min syster och föräldrar.
Det öppna barndomslandskapet har präglat den jag är idag och
sökandet efter det enkla och självklara är en grundsyn jag bär
med mig. Jag försöker se det lilla i det stora och det stora i det
lilla, inte minst i vardagen med mina två barn. Barns nyfikenhet
och syn på verkligheten ger en ovärderlig utgångspunkt i mitt liv
och arbete.

I am Frida Breife, born 1972, artist. After preparatory art schools
I studied at the Textile University in Borås, where I recieved a
Bachelor in Textile Design 1997 and further on a Master of Fine
Arts in Textile at HDK, School of Design and Craft at Göteborg
University 2003.

Since 1996 I live in Göteborg, Sweden, but have my origin in the
island of Öland where I grew up with my sister and parents. The
open and free landscape of my childhood island characterizes
who I have become, and my search for the simple and obvious
is essential. I try to se the small in the grand and the grand in
the small, not at least in my everyday life with my two children.
The views of reality and the curiousity of a child gives an invaluable
basis in my life and work.
